- August 31, 2005 - Wencor & APS announced today that Martinair has chosen the digEplayer�, in-flight entertainment (IFE) product for their system of entertainment on long haul flights.
The digEplayer� is the winner of the IFE (In-flight Entertainment) Product of the year Award and the world's first self-contained, portable video on demand (VOD) entertainment unit preprogrammed with movies, television shows, cartoons, videos, music, as well as airline destination information, promotions and advertising.
"The digEplayer is part of the revitalized Star Class and the new Comfort Class where quality and attention to the passenger play an important role," said Sander Heijmans, Senior Vice President Passenger Business.
The digEplayer will be a complimentary use item available for those in Star and Comfort Class. The passengers in Economy can rent them for �15. The digEplayers will be available on all Martinair intercontinental flights starting in November.

Each digEplayer is about the same weight and size of a typical portable DVD player. Units contain a 40-gigabyte hard drive and utilize the latest technology.
