digEcor, just when you thought you knew us

SPRINGVILLE, Utah (August 28, 2008) - Late afternoon last Wednesday, digEcor's IT department made the last adjustments in preparation to launch a new website designed to provide more information about all that digEcor can do. With the changes made, the site went live as scheduled. "What's really exciting about this site is that not only are we featuring the product and services that many airlines are familiar with, but we are also presenting what new capabilities and services we now offer," eagerly explained CEO Brent Wood.

Tried and true offerings

The website uses an easily navigated layout to guide visitors through pages of information and photography. Both the digEplayer 5500 and XT have multiple pages outlining functionality, content offerings, applications, customization, repair services, etc. There are also pages about accessory equipment and turn-key solutions. You can even request a demo unit to evaluate the portable media player designed specifically for airline passengers - the versatile digEplayer XT.

"In our ongoing efforts to better communicate developments to the marketplace and provide a forum where customers can read about the company's news, we have added a 'News & Events' section which announces our tradeshow involvement and features our press releases. So look for this release on our new site," grinned Adam Williams, Director of Marketing, revealing his satisfaction with the results of countless hours of working and reworking the site. Everyone involved in the project was determined to have the site ready before the WAEA show as airlines research vendors.

digEcor launched the first online worldwide portable IFE reservation system more than four years ago so that passengers can reserve a digEplayer long before standing in line at the airport for the often "thorough" security check. Any digEcor customer can use the system to allow passengers to reserve players. Alaska Airlines has been using the system for years and passengers have praised the ability to have a player set aside waiting when they arrive (with one shoe still untied and their belt hanging through one belt loop). A face lift was also performed on the reservation portal, www.digEplayer.com, and after extensive beta testing, was launched in July of this year. A link to the reservation portal can also be found on the new website.

New services

Using the close relationship with Wencor, which is a worldwide leader in parts distribution and PMA development, digEcor will now offer IFE related PMA parts for all airlines. "Wencor has been in this business for decades now and has a large engineering staff that works closely with the FAA to certify replacement parts for aircraft. Going forward, digEcor will work with airlines to source PMA parts for IFE systems as a Wencor distributor as well as through other distributorships," remarked Wood.

Many airlines face challenges with procuring replacement parts for IFE systems in a timely or cost effective manner. digEcor's sales representatives will be trained in identifying specific requirements in order to source the best products with the shortest lead times at the lowest prices.
